Professional Home Cinema, LLC was founded in September 2004 upon a simple principle: to combine the preeminent engineering technology from consumer and professional audio fields to produce the most accurate, robust and aurally-exciting audio products for
installed residential systems available. Six years later, in September 2010, we enter a new era demarcated by the introduction of a new brand mark: Pro Audio Technology. The company heritage, ownership and legal name remain unchanged; the new mark and its associated brand promise, however, make possible broader application of the company’s pioneering engineering technology and better fit our current corporate strategy. To those who already know us, the name is new; the promise to deliver truly unique high performance products is the same.
For those unfamiliar with us, Pro Audio Technology products unite lively dynamics, high maximum output level, and rugged durability
with the refined acoustic performance you’ve come to expect from contemporary home audio equipment. The result is a range of loudspeakers and programmable power amplifiers that, when combined, will offer years of incomparable sonic thrills.
Explore the site and you will discover that we offer a complete range of products to address every residential installed sound application:
from cost-effective whole-home audio to the most powerful professional-grade home cinema systems extant. And rest assured,
installing a Pro Audio Technology audio system is guaranteed to make sound fun again.
All PRO products are designed and manufactured in the United States of America.
A “Systems Approach” to engineering defines the Pro Audio Technology collection of
loudspeakers, subwoofers, and DSP powered amplifier / processors. Like any great anthology of work,
each PRO product is viewed as a complementary part of a whole, all working in concert to provide breathtaking results.
Powerful bass is fundamental to any exciting cinema experience. PRO’s professional grade subwoofers provide low frequency extension that is both articulate and highly impactful, delivering a solid bass foundation for movie soundtracks and music alike.
AMPLIFIERS / PROCESSORS
DSP processing and high output power lay at the core of the PRO philosophy. Advanced proprietary DSP filters optimize each loudspeaker’s performance and its installation. With dedicated amp channels ranging from 100 to 1000 watts of power, every system is carefully balanced to provide maximum performance and value.
Using only professional grade components, PRO loudspeaker’s high sensitivity and extraordinary power handling allow each system to achieve the output levels and dynamics of today’s best commercial cinema systems. From in-wall and in-ceiling, to large format theater speakers, solutions are available for every application.
Sister company to Pro Audio Technology, Theory Audio Design loudspeakers and electronics marry startling acoustic performance with sophisticated design to bring large-scale sound to residential and commercial installations
where aesthetics and compact size are paramount.
Matt Scott is joined by Product Designer for Pro Audio Technology Paul Hales talking about their line of high-quality speakers for home theater being shown in their booth.
“We sell a lot of cinema brands, but Pro Audio Technology gives you the real-world effect,” said Cobb.
“When you watch a movie you aren’t just watching it; the experience is so immersive and it makes you feel as though

“Before taking a look at specific product recommendations, Paul Hales, president and product designer for Pro Audio Technology, offers a complete audio system to help provide an immersive “Game of Thrones” experience. “As for recommended equipment, most importantly, I suggest at least a 7.1.4-channel (or higher) Dolby Atmos system. Even more ideal would be the inclusion of two or four subwoofers in order to deal with the acoustical issues of the room, and to augment the performance of the audio system,” says Hales.”
“For the main area of the locker room, Miestro installed a 117-inch video image with a Pro Audio Technology in-wall/in-ceiling sound system that reaches volume levels of 120dB to really get the team fired up.”
“One of the differences that people often cite with home theater and a commercial theater is the volume and scope of a commercial theater. Pro Audio Technology designs high-performance, high-output speaker systems specifically designed to emulate the commercial theater experience within home environments.”
“Examining the problem of room acoustics and the best way to deal with the problems associated with small-room acoustics, Hales says that any dealer that ignores the physical room acoustics and instead relies solely on automated EQ is taking unnecessary risks.
“Helping professional integrators to effectively setup and install advanced multichannel object-based surround systems,
Paul Hales, owner and product designer, Pro Audio Technology, says that distributed bass is key to installing high performing object-based surround systems in residential environments.”
“Paul Hales of Pro Audio Technology recommends placing large subwoofers in the front of a home theater and augmenting the larger subs with small subs setup as mirror points to help produce smooth and powerful bass.”
Immersive audio formats have forged an impactful effect to complement 4K video in driving renewed interest in home theater. CE Pro recommends 19 Dolby Atmos and DTS:X products (including the PRO SCRS-25im) that integrators can use to create sizzling sound systems.
Now that we have at least three good immersive audio platforms — Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D — there's no excuse for a good home theater to skip object-oriented sound. CE Pro recommends 16 components (including the PRO SCRS-25im) to choose from.
Review by Robert Archer of CE Pro.

“We sell a lot of cinema brands, but Pro Audio Technology gives you the real-world effect,” says Cobb. “When you watch a movie you aren’t just watching it, the experience is so immersive, it makes you feel as though you are actually in the scene.”
“Most recently, PRO designed the SCRS-25im in response to specific dealer needs for a smaller, more accessible in-wall loudspeaker that can be installed anywhere from a dedicated theater room to a multi-purpose living space, and yet still provide the uncompromised signature PRO sound found in our larger, more expensive loudspeakers.”

“Southern Calif.-based Pro Audio Technology helped popularize the idea of utilizing commercial audio technologies for home theater applications. The company’s new SCRS-25im speaker can be used for on-wall and in-wall installations to provide high SPL, low distortion dynamic multichannel playback of movie and music soundtracks.”

Paul and host Scott Wilkinson will pick up where they left off in Episode 164 on the topic of room-based system EQ. Problems with common “EQ target curves” and the impact of the new immersive surround formats (Dolby Atmos, Auro3D and DTS:X) on deployment home theater audio systems will be discussed – drawing from common sense and presented in plain English – no audio engineering degree required!
To achieve “unrivalled audio quality,” the space was outfitted with a dozen high-end home cinema speakers from Pro Audio Technology out of Lake Forest, California [and] everything is powered by an impressive arsenal of amplifiers and processors from Pro Technology… “This home theater has exceeded our client’s expectations on every level — from the sound and video quality and star ceiling to the intuitive control experience,” Cobb concluded.
